Therefore, “Green jobs” have become more prevalent in the job market over the past decades. The European Commission reports 4.2 million green jobs in 2017 in the small environmental economy of Europe (2,2% of GDP).

Most of these jobs are situated in the Management of energy resources (35%), Environmental protection (21%), Waste management (28%), and Water waste management (13%).

A wider definition of green jobs could account for 20 million jobs or 5% of the working population.

Over 1.8 trillion euros will be allocated for the 2021-27 EU budget and the Next Generation EU fund to support the EU policies with 30% on climate and environment.

So, if you are looking for a career in a long-lasting industry, A “green job” might be the way to go!
