National Stakeholder Consultation on Blue Economy Governance in Bangladesh

As part of the Australia Awards- Driving Change: Alumni Grants for Innovation, the Blue Economy Think Tank hosted the National Stakeholder Consultation on Blue Economy Governance in Bangladesh on 13 July 2026 at SIMEC Institute of Technology Campus-2, Dhaka.

The consultation brought together policymakers, researchers, academics, and Australia Awards alumni to discuss strengthening Bangladesh's blue economy through evidence-based policymaking, stronger institutional coordination, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.

The workshop featured contributions from Foara Yasmin, Executive Director of SIMEC group, Dr. Ratan Kumar Roy, Director of SIMEC Institute of Technology; Professor Dr. S. M. Shameem Reza, Research Advisor at SIMEC Foundation; Jibon Krishna Saha Roy, Director General, Investment Environment Services, BIDA; and other Australia Awards alumni and stakeholders.

Together, participants reaffirmed the importance of advancing the Blue Economy as a national priority for sustainable development.

সমাজে দ্বীনি শিক্ষা প্রসারে সিমেক ফাউন্ডেশনের “মাওলানা ইব্রাহিম দ্বীনি শিক্ষা প্রশিক্ষণ” একটি প্রশংসনীয় উদ্যোগ। ৫–১২ বছর বয়সী শিশুদের সহিহভাবে কোরআন শিক্ষা, নৈতিকতা ও মানবিক মূল্যবোধ শেখানোর লক্ষ্যে পরিচালিত এই কার্যক্রমে ঈদুল আজহার ছুটির পর শিক্ষার্থীরা আবারও নিয়মিতভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করা শুরু করেছে।

ময়মনসিংহের ত্রিশালের বালিপাড়ায় অবস্থিত সিমেক পল্লীতে প্রতিদিন সকালে অর্ধশতাধিক শিক্ষার্থী উৎসাহের সঙ্গে এই প্রশিক্ষণে অংশ নিয়ে থাকে। অভিজ্ঞ শিক্ষকদের তত্ত্বাবধানে পাঠদান পরিচালিত হয় এবং ক্লাস শেষে শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝে নাস্তা বিতরণ করা হয়। এভাবেই সিমেক ফাউন্ডেশন একটি সচেতন, নৈতিক ও আলোকিত প্রজন্ম গড়ে তুলতে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।
