The people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, notably the regions of Bandarban, Khagrachori, and Rangamati, celebrate Boishabi with pomp and splendor from the 12th to the 14th of April. Boishabi, on the other hand, is more than just a celebration for the ethnic community.

Boishabi is more than a festival; it is a celebration of the indigenous communities' traditional and cultural celebrations in the three hill districts. The festival is celebrated by eight communities: Chakma, Marma, Tangchangya, Tripura, Mro, Khumi, Khiyang, and Chak. It demonstrates greater amity among them and a similarity in their culture and traditions. The word "Boishabi" is made up of "Boi" from the Tripura community of Boisuk, "sa" from the Marma community of Sangrai, and "bi" from the Chakma community of Bizu.
