The emergence of COVID-19 pandemic has turned into a global issue determining the fate of cross-border transactions executed or performed lately. Legal practitioners of 17 different countries have compiled their thoughts on the recent pandemic as a force majeure or hardship event resulting into the publication of the book titled ‘Force Majeure and Hardship in the Asia-Pacific Region’. Published by JURIS, New York, the book contains country-wise chapters of 33 contributors altogether and is edited by Harald Sippel, founder of sippel.legal, an international boutique firm with a special focus on East Asia and the ASEAN region in particular and Kabir Duggal, an attorney in Arnold and Porter’s New York office and a faculty at Columbia Law School. The Bangladesh chapter of the book has been contributed by our Head of Chambers Barrister Md. Monzur Rabbi.
