Green Climate Initiative (GCI) is a non-profit environmental organisation . For the past three years, we have been working with people from Bangladesh and around the world to protect the environment and address the challenges of climate change.

In 2026, we are launching a long-term research project along with several new development initiatives aimed at building climate resilience and promoting sustainable solutions for communities most affected by environmental change.

We strongly believe that meaningful change is only possible through collective action. We sincerely hope to have your continued support, engagement, and partnership in our journey toward a greener and more sustainable future.

Welcome Dr. Afshana Parven to Green Climate Initiative!

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Afshana Parven, PhD, has joined the Green Climate Initiative as an Advisor for the year 2026.

Dr. Parven is a distinguished researcher from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, with extensive expertise in climate change, delta management, nature-based solutions (NbS), disaster risk reduction, fisheries management, and water governance. Her scholarly contributions span food security, disaster resilience, energy security, transboundary water conflicts, flood risk management, and sustainable urban water systems.

With over a decade of impactful research and numerous high-citation publications in leading international journals, Dr. Parven brings invaluable knowledge and experience that will strengthen our mission to build climate-resilient communities and promote sustainable solutions worldwide.

We are honored to welcome her to our advisory team and look forward to her guidance, leadership, and vision in advancing climate action in 2026 and beyond.

Yesterday, the Green Climate Initiative (GCI), in collaboration with RUPALI BANK LTD (রূপালী ব্যাংক লিঃ), successfully organized the Coastal Green Resilience Initiative 2025 at Police K.G School & College, Noakhali. 🌱

The event brought together passionate youth, teachers, and community members to promote climate resilience, coastal adaptation, and sustainable living. Together, we planted trees, shared knowledge, and inspired local action for a greener and safer future for coastal Bangladesh. 💚
