4th Meeting of the Standing Committee on Member Service & Welfare
The Standing Committee on Member Service & Welfare successfully convened its 4th meeting on 20 April 2026 at the BASIS Boardroom. The session focused on advancing key initiatives and strengthening strategic directions to further enhance member services and welfare.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Managing Director & CEO, OS IT Solutions Ltd – Chairman of the Committee, with active participation from Mr. Ferdosh Alam, Founder & CEO, Atova Technology – Member-in-Charge, along with Co-Chairmen and Mr. Nawab Asif (Lenosoft), Mr. Arif Billah (Solutya Private Limited).
The session was attended by the following esteemed members: Mr. AFM Ismail Chowdhury, Managing Director, iCircles USA Bangladesh Limited – Member; Mr. Shafqat Chowdhury, Director, Kreatech – Member; Mr. Md. Babul Hossain, Chief Executive Officer, NBY IT Solution – Member; Mr. Md. Moazzem Hossain, Proprietor, Unishop – Member; Mr. Md. Aladdin, Founder, Unite Business Automation Ltd – Member.
Key discussions of the meeting included reviewing progress on previous action items with a focus on outcomes and impact, finalization of the structure and operational framework of the Sponsorship & Welfare Fund, and exploring strategies to enhance member engagement through innovative service delivery and digital platforms.
The committee also deliberated on the proposed Innovation Hub, outlining its implementation roadmap and resource requirements, and emphasized the development of a Member Support & Mentorship (Buddy) Program to strengthen collaboration within the community. Planning for upcoming flagship events such as hackathons, startup pitching sessions, and industry collaboration programs was also discussed.
In addition, the meeting highlighted the importance of organizing EGP training programs, mentorship initiatives, and project pricing awareness sessions to further build capacity and practical business skills among members.
Special focus was given to broader capacity-building initiatives, particularly designing practical AI-focused workshops for members and executives. The meeting further provided space to discuss member feedback, challenges, and recommendations for continuous service improvement.
From the BASIS Secretariat, Mr. Mehedi Hasan, Senior Executive, Member Services, was present in the meeting.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to implement impactful initiatives that will enhance engagement, innovation, and the overall welfare of BASIS members.

BASIS & Community Bank Bangladesh PLC Sign MoU to Empower ICT Entrepreneurs & Startups
The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Community Bank Bangladesh PLC officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the BASIS Boardroom, marking a significant step toward strengthening financial and banking support for the country’s ICT sector.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished representatives from Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, including Ms. Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge); Mr. SK Perves Maraker, SVP & Head of Division, Agent Banking, Foreign Remittance, Transaction Banking & Strategic Business Unit; Mr. Hossain-Al-Safeer Chowdhury, Vice President & Head of SME & Agriculture Division; Mr. Zahir Ahmed, VP & Head of Cards, Card Division; Mr. Md. Mamun ur Rahman, Head of Alternative Delivery Channel & Head of MD’s Coordination Team; and Mr. Md. Al Amin Sumon, PO & Manager, Agent Banking Division.
The ceremony was honored by Mr. Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan, Joint Secretary, Local Government Division & Administrator, BASIS. From BASIS, the event was attended by Mr. Mustafa Rafiqul Islam (Duke), Mr. Mushfiqur Rahman, Mr. Md. Rowshan Kamal James, Mr. A H M Rokmunur Zaman Rony, Mr. Mohammad Abdul Majid, Mr. Md. Jewel, Mr. Ferdosh Alam, and Mr. Syeed Zahid Hossain, all Associate Committee Members of BASIS.
Under this MoU, BASIS and Community Bank will jointly introduce a range of tailored financial solutions for ICT entrepreneurs, including a co-branded “BASIS × Community Bank” SME & Freelancer Banking and Credit Card with fast-track account opening, preferential fees and foreign exchange rates, and credit facilities linked to verified business performance. The partnership will also enable ICT startup funding and working capital support through collateral-light loans, invoice financing, bridge finance, and scalable credit lines.
Additionally, both organizations will collaborate to enhance foreign remittance and export collection services through a dedicated ICT Export & Remittance Desk, ensuring faster transactions, better conversion rates, and compliance support. The MoU also focuses on joint ventures for digital banking innovations such as API banking, e-KYC onboarding, payroll systems, and embedded finance solutions to be developed by BASIS member companies.
To further empower the ICT ecosystem, the partnership will deliver skills development, compliance training, market access programs, and an ICT Export Accelerator connecting local companies with global buyers, supported by secure payment mechanisms.
