বেসিক ব্যাংকের উদ্যোগে মানি লন্ডারিং ও সন্ত্রাসী অর্থায়ন প্রতিরোধ বিষয়ে সচেতনতা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত

রাষ্ট্র মালিকানাধীন বেসিক ব্যাংক লিমিটেড এর উদ্যোগে পরিচালনা পর্ষদ এবং উর্ধ্বতন নির্বাহীদের অংশগ্রহণে মানি লন্ডারিং ও সন্ত্রাসী অর্থায়ন প্রতিরোধ বিষয়ক একটি সচেতনতামূলক সভা মঙ্গলবার, ২৮ অক্টোবর ২০২৫ মতিঝিলস্থ ব্যাংকের প্রধান কার্যালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন ব্যাংকের পরিচালনা পর্ষদের চেয়ারম্যান হেলাল আহমেদ চৌধুরী এবং সভাপতিত্ব করেন ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক এবং সিইও মোঃ কামরুজ্জামান খান। বাংলাদেশ ফাইন্যান্সিয়াল ইন্টিলিজেন্স ইউনিট (বিএফআইউ) এর অতিরিক্ত পরিচালক সাজ্জাদ হোসেন পরিচালনা পর্ষদ এবং উর্ধ্বতন নির্বাহীদের উদ্দেশ্যে মানি লন্ডারিং ও সন্ত্রাসী অর্থায়ন প্রতিরোধ আইন ও সংশ্লিষ্ট বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত উপস্থাপনা তুলে ধরেন।

পরিচালনা পর্ষদের চেয়ারম্যান হেলাল আহমেদ চৌধুরী তারঁ উদ্বোধনী বক্তৃতায় ব্যাংকিং কার্যক্রমে অর্থ পাচার এবং সন্ত্রাসী অর্থাযয়ন প্রতিরোধের গুরুত্বের উপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন এবং এ বিষয়ে নিয়ন্ত্রণকারী কর্তৃপক্ষের নির্দেশনাসমূহ যথাযথভাবে পরিপালন ও প্রযুক্তিগত সহায়তার হালনাগাদকরনের নির্দেশনা প্রদান করেন। এছাড়া অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণকারীরা অর্থ পাচার এবং সন্ত্রাসী অর্থায়ন প্রতিরোধ সম্পর্কিত বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে তাদের বিস্তারিত জ্ঞান ও অভিজ্ঞতা বিনিময় করেন।

অনুষ্ঠানে অর্থ মন্ত্রণালয়ের অর্থ বিভাগের অতিরিক্ত সচিব ও ব্যাংকের পরিচালক মুন্সি আব্দুল আহাদ, আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান বিভাগের যুগ্ম সচিব ও ব্যাংকের পরিচালক শেখ ফরিদ, মোঃ মতিউর রহমান, এফসিএ, এফসিএমএ, সাবেক অতিরিক্ত সচিব মোঃ আব্দুল আহাদ, সরকারের অবসরপ্রাপ্ত গ্রেড-১ কর্মকর্তা ড. আবু সালেহ মোস্তফা কামাল, এস,এম, ইকবাল হোছাইন, উপব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালকদ্বয় আবু মোঃ মোফাজ্জেল ও সুভাষ চন্দ্র দাস, মহাব্যবস্থাপক মোঃ ইসমাইল, মোঃ মমিনুল হক, মোঃ নাসির উদ্দীন, সুমিত রঞ্জন নাথ, ক্যামেলকো মোঃ হাসান ইমাম, মোঃ গোলাম সাঈদ খান, সাইদুর রহমান সোহেল, নূরুর রহমান চৌধুরী (মহাব্যবস্থাপক-চলতি দায়িত্বে) এবং এন্টি মানি লন্ডারিং বিভাগের প্রধান জহির উদ্দিন উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

BASIC Bank organized Knowledge Sharing Program on
Anti-Money Laundering & Combating of Terrorist Financing

State-owned BASIC Bank Limited organized a knowledge-sharing program on ‘Anti Money Laundering & Combating the Financing of Terrorism’ with the participation of the Board of Directors and senior management of the Bank, which was held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Bank’s Head Office in Motijheel, Dhaka.

Helal Ahmed Chowdhoury, Chairman of the Board of Directors, graced the event as the Chief Guest and Md. Quamruzzaman Khan, Managing Director & CEO of the Bank, presided over the program. In the program, Sajjad Hossain, Additional Director of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), gave a detailed presentation on AML/CFT for the Board Members & Senior Management Team of BASIC Bank Ltd.

In his inaugural speech, Helal Ahmed Chowdhoury, Chairman of the Board of Directors, emphasized the importance of preventing money laundering and terrorist financing in banking operations and instructed proper compliance with regulatory authority guidelines on these issues and updating of technological support. The participants shared their knowledge and detailed insights into various issues related to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.

Mofazzal and Subhash Chandra Das, FCA, FCMA, Deputy Managing Directors, along with Md. Ismail, Md. Momenul Hoque, Md. Nashir Uddin, Sumit Ranjan Nath, CAMELCO Md. Hasan Imam, Dulon Kanti Chakrabarty, Md. Ghulam Syeed Khan, Saidur Rahman Sohel, all General Managers, Nurur Rahman Chowdhury (GM-CC), Jahir Uddin Ahmed, Head of AMLD, were also present on the occasion.

বেসিক ব্যাংকের ৩৬তম বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভা অনুষ্ঠিত

শতভাগ রাষ্ট্র মালিকানাধীন বেসিক ব্যাংক লিমিটেড-এর ৩৬তম বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভা (এজিএম) ব্যাংকের পরিচালনা পর্ষদের চেয়ারম্যান হেলাল আহমেদ চৌধুরী এর সভাপতিত্বে সোমবার, ২২ সেপ্টেম্বর, ২০২৫ ব্যাংকের প্রধান কার্যালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ব্যাংকের শতভাগ শেয়ারহোল্ডার গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে অর্থ মন্ত্রণালয়ের আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান বিভাগের সচিব নাজমা মোবারেক সভায় উপস্থিত ছিলেন। ব্যাংকের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক এবং সিইও মোঃ কামরুজ্জামান খান সভায় উপস্থিত সকলকে স্বাগত জানান এবং নানান প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেন। সভায় ব্যাংকের ২০২৪ সালের আর্থিক প্রতিবেদন অনুমোদন করা হয়।

আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান বিভাগের সচিব নাজমা মোবারেক তারঁ বক্তব্যে বলেন, বেসিক ব্যাংকে আমরা সম্ভাবনা দেখতে পাচ্ছি, আলোর রেখা দেখতে পাচ্ছি এটাকে পরিপূর্ণভাবে আলোকিত করতে হবে। তিনি আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করে বলেন, বেসিক ব্যাংক এখন ক্রমশ ভালোর দিকে যাচ্ছে। সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে ব্যাংকটিকে সম্ভাব্য সকল সহায়তার আশ্বাস প্রদান করেন। আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান বিভাগের সচিব বেসিক ব্যাংকের অতীত ইতিহাস পর্যালোচনা করে বলেন, এটা একটি ভালো ব্যাংক ছিল। এর হারানো গৌরব ফিরিয়ে আনতে হবে। ব্যাংকের সার্বিক উন্নতির জন্য তিনি সকলকে এগিয়ে আসার আহবান জানান।

ব্যাংকের চেয়ারম্যান হেলাল আহমেদ চৌধুরী তাঁর বক্তব্যে ব্যাংকের টেকসই অগ্রগতি নিশ্চিত করতে কৌশলগত পরিকল্পনা প্রণয়ন ও এর কার্যকর বাস্তবায়নের ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেছেন। তিনি খেলাপি ঋণ আদায় কার্যক্রম জোরদার করা এবং আইনি প্রক্রিয়া গতিশীল করার পরামর্শ দেন। একই সঙ্গে তিনি নিয়ন্ত্রক কর্তৃপক্ষের সকল নির্দেশনা যথাযথভাবে পরিপালন ও কর্মক্ষেত্রে সুশাসন বজায় রাখার ওপর বিশেষ গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। তিনি অর্থ মন্ত্রণালয়, বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক এবং অন্যান্য নিয়ন্ত্রকদের প্রতি বিশেষ ধন্যবাদ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন।

বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের নির্বাহী পরিচালক মোঃ সিরাজুল ইসলাম ব্যাংকের আয় বৃদ্ধি এবং খেলাপি ঋণ আদায়ের উপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। একইসঙ্গে তিনি কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংকের পক্ষ থেকে প্রয়োজনীয় সহায়তা প্রদানে সচেষ্ট থাকার কথা জানান।

এছাড়া প্রশ্নোত্তর পর্বে উপব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালকদ্বয় আবু মোঃ মোফাজ্জেল ও সুভাষ চন্দ্র দাস, মহাব্যবস্থাপক মোঃ ইসমাইল, মোঃ মমিনুল হক, মোঃ নাসির উদ্দীন, সুমিত রঞ্জন নাথ, দুলন কান্তি চক্রবর্তী, মোঃ গোলাম সাঈদ খান, নূরুর রহমান চৌধুরী (মহাব্যবস্থাপক-চলতি দায়িত্ব) সহ ঊর্ধ্বতন নির্বাহীবৃন্দ এসময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

The 36th AGM of BASIC Bank Held

The 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of state-owned BASIC Bank Limited was held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Head Office of the Bank. Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman of the Bank presided over the meeting. Nazma Mobarek, Secretary, Financial Institutions Division (FID), Ministry of Finance attended the meeting as a representative of the Bank’s sole shareholder, the Govt. of Bangladesh. While Md. Quamruzzaman Khan, Managing Director & CEO of the Bank welcome the guests and answered various questions at the meeting. The financial statements for the year 2024 of the Bank were adopted in the meeting.

Munshi Abdul Ahad, Additional Secretary of Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, Sheikh Farid, Joint Secretary of FID, Ministry of Finance, Md. Matiur Rahman, FCA, FCMA, Md. Abdul Ahad, Additional Secretary (Rtd.), Dr. Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal, former Government Official (Grade-1), all Directors of BASIC Bank, and Md. Sirajul Islam, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank and Observer of BASIC Bank’s Board, GM and Company Secretary Md. Hasan Imam, GM and CFO Saidur Rahman Sohel and, and a representative of the Audit firm, Kazi Zahir Khan & Co. were present at the meeting.

FID Secretary Nazma Mobarek said in her speech, we see great potential in BASIC Bank and a ray of light is seen. She is hopeful of its gradual turnaround and assured all possible support from the Government. Reflecting on the Bank’s past history, she told that it was a good Bank and its past glory needs to be restored. She urged every one of the bank to work hard diligently.

Chairman of BASIC Bank, Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, emphasized the importance of formulating strategic plans and ensuring their effective implementation to secure sustainable growth. He also stressed the need to intensify loan recovery efforts and accelerate legal procedures. At the same time, he underlined the importance of strict compliance with regulatory directives and maintaining good governance across all operational areas. He expressed thanks and gratitude to Ministry of Finance, Bangladesh Bank and other regulators.

Bangladesh Bank’s Executive Director, Md. Sirajul Islam, put importance on income growth and loan recovery, while assuring necessary support from the central bank.
