For families in Khesra and Balidaha, Satkhira district, clean drinking water was never guaranteed. Every day meant uncertainty — collecting water from unsafe sources, worrying about illness, and spending valuable time just to meet a basic need.

Today, those same ponds tell a different story. 💧

Footsteps, in partnership with Greenman as our field implementation partner, has reconstructed Pond Sand Filters (PSF) in Khesra and Balidaha, turning community ponds into safe and reliable sources of drinking water. What once carried risk now brings relief to households who depend on these ponds every single day.

This change goes beyond water. It means mothers no longer worrying about the safety of what their children drink. It means less time spent walking long distances, and more time for school, work, and family. It means healthier communities, restored dignity, and hope that something as basic as clean water is finally within reach.

Two ponds. Two communities. Countless lives touched.
Because when safe water flows, opportunity follows.

We are proud to announce that Footsteps Bangladesh has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RedOrange to collaborate on the restoration of major urban and rural canals across Bangladesh.

This partnership brings together strategy, collaboration, and shared commitment to mobilize government, private sector, and local communities for the revival of vital waterways. We look forward to working closely with RedOrange to create meaningful and lasting environmental impact.

This Ramadan, we at Footsteps had the privilege of partnering with Tamim Iqbal to highlight the true spirit of Sadaqah through the power of giving.

We identified six promising young cricketers from academies in Narayanganj who are pursuing their dreams despite financial challenges. In a special surprise, Tamim Bhai supported them with professional CA cricket gear and later joined them for iftar, where the young athletes had the chance to spend quality time, hear his journey, and receive advice from the former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team.

At Footsteps, we believe that no dream should be limited by the lack of opportunity or resources. Many young athletes dream of representing Bangladesh one day, and together with Tamim Iqbal, we are committed to standing beside these incredible talents so their dreams of playing at the highest level of world cricket continue to live on.

Footsteps Bangladesh had the honor of hosting the Honorable State Minister for Primary and Mass Education and MP for Dhaka-13, Bobby Hajjaj , during his visit to the Ramchandrapur and Kollyanpur canals to observe our ongoing work and discuss proposed restoration initiatives.

Over the past six months, Footsteps Bangladesh has been actively working in these canal areas, engaging with local communities and stakeholders to better understand the challenges and opportunities for restoration.

The initiative aims to restore these vital urban waterways through a collaborative partnership between the Government of Bangladesh, the Dutch Government, DNCC, RedOrange, and the local community. Together, we are working toward revitalizing these canals to improve environmental sustainability, urban resilience, and community well-being.

Through partnership and collective commitment, we believe these canals can once again become valuable resources for the surrounding communities.
