IMechE BUET Student Chapter

On the 10th of December 2025, IMechE BUET Student Chapter hosted a seminar titled "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗜, 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 & 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴" - led by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗻, Senior Principal Engineer of Advanced Technologies at Edwards Lifesciences.

Leveraged from his time at Edwards Lifesciences in California and multiple other important roles played at a number of companies, Mr. Hossain outlined how Mechanical Engineering connects with Artificial Intelligence - using real-world insights. The event explored Physical AI through practical examples; it also examined Contextual Robotics alongside emerging trends in scalable production methods.

The session focused on the topics of-

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱: Exploring how ideas have changed, focusing on "Embodied Intelligence" alongside emerging trends like "Physical AI".

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀: A look at how AI works today in design and automated production fields.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Skilled insights into tomorrow’s education, advanced learning paths - also where mechanical engineers stand in the worldwide AI scene.

We truly appreciate Naser Hossain taking the time - also sharing insights into the broad opportunities ahead for our graduates in this fast-changing sector.

Champion & Runners-Up of the 𝐒𝐎𝐟𝐄 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐁𝐔𝐄𝐓 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 '𝟐𝟓 will represent BUET at the 𝐒𝐎𝐟𝐄 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, with the opportunity to move forward to the 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓.
