Local Lead for a UK-headquartered VC firm
This company is a leading emerging markets-focused VC managing just under $300m, with investments today across eight countries. Our firm’s thesis rests on the belief that there are a handful of countries that are early in their digital transition, and we want to be the catalyst for this by investing in the leading teams tackling the most significant opportunities in these countries. Our portfolio companies are solving the fundamental issues affecting the day-to-day lives of businesses and consumers, and so the potential impact and financial returns are commensurately large.
What You'll Do:
Our local hires are our eyes and ears on the ground. They ensure that we see all the deals in the country, building relationships with other local VCs and founders from the idea stage so that we can be ready to invest when they reach Seed/Series A. They lead due diligence alongside the international team, and supported by our venture partner domain experts. Especially important is the qualitative information that differentiates us from other international investors without a presence on the ground. Post-investment they provide ongoing support for portfolio companies, maintaining a close relationship with the founder. In every role, they are supported by our regional and international team, sharing the experience of investing in multiple markets to make us the investor of choice for the leading start-ups in each country we invest. In anticipation of our next fund launch, we’re looking to build out our investment team and are hiring in Bangladesh.
Requirements:
-High intelligence, high ambition, high integrity – each as important as the other.
-A background either at a VC that has deployed capital into local startups, or has been part of a team that has raised capital from local and international investors.
-Understand the dynamics underpinning venture capital and be part of Bangladesh’s venture eco-system.
-The ability to go deep and be creative with understanding businesses as part of due diligence. We focus on Fintech, B2B Software, and Marketplaces, and invest opportunistically in other verticals.
-Clarity of thought and ability to articulate a thesis as part of investment memo creation.
-Ability to work autonomously and effectively.
-At least 4 years of relevant experience.
Employment Structure:
Remote | Full Time
Compensation: BDT 168,000 - 300,000 + 2 Festival Bonuses + Co-working if Needed

Deputy Manager, Finance & Accounts
This FMCG company is the Bangladesh subsidiary of a U.S. company. We are looking for Deputy Manager - Finance & Accounts Department who will take care of the finance & accounts depart related activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Prepare annual financial statements as per the accounting standard.
-Work with the external auditors for auditing of accounts; prepare supporting schedules for the annual review.
-Responsible for maintaining a computerized accounting system, and backup control.
-Responsible for all tax obligations, tax payment and timely submission of tax returns and related reports.
-Timely submission of invoice, contract variations and summary variations etc. to clients, agencies, Government of Bangladesh etc.
-Communication with different clients, Government of Bangladesh etc. for financial issues.
-Checking all dept. vouchers & invoices and posting them to software.
-Processing salary and OT statement timely and corresponding with the bank for disbursement.
-Maintaining Land documents in an appropriate manner.
-Ensure proper internal control implementation at the transactions level.
-Conduct physical verification of stock quarterly and yearly and when required.
-All the secretarial work of the company.
-Comply with Audit firms and fulfill their requirements.
-Compliance with the other legal & regulatory body's requirements.
-Checking daily MIS reports and sending them to top management.
-Monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements to management.
-Preparing budget and budget variance report to management.
-Financial review statements and banking institutions.
-Service/Product wise profitability report to management.
Skills & Qualifications:
-BBA or MBA in Accounting and Finance from a reputable university.
-CA CC/ACCA/CMA/CFA will get preference.
-4 to 6 years experience in the relevant field in FMCG Company.
-The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Budgetary Control, Cost & Management Accounting, Financial Planning, Financial Reporting
-Should have sound knowledge of marketing tools and techniques.
-Experience in a reputed food and beverage FMCG organization.
-Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, and creative & analytical thinking.
