Emigration আর immigration শব্দ দুটিকে অনেকে একই মনে করলেও আসলে এরা একটি অপরটির বিপরীত।

Emigration হলো নিজের দেশ ত্যাগ করে অন্যদেশে যাওয়া।

আর immigration হলো অন্য দেশ থেকে এই দেশে আসা।

যারা বাংলাদেশ ছেড়ে অন্য দেশে বসবাসের জন্য যায় বাংলাদেশে তাদের বলা হয় emigrant আর যেদেশে বাস করতে যায় সেখানে তাদের বলা হয় immigrant.

মনে রাখার সহজ কৌশলঃ
emigration শুরু হয় e দিয়ে তাই মনে রাখুন emigration মানে exit করে মানে দেশ ছাড়ে।
আর immigration শুরু i দিয়ে তাই মনে রাখুন immigration মানে in করে মানে দেশে আসে।
