Annual Urs of Hazrat Shah-i-Hamdan (R.A.) to be Observed at Khanqah-e-Awal, Wachi Zainpora

The annual Urs Mubarak of the revered Sufi saint Mir Syed Ali Hamadani, popularly known as Hazrat Shah-i-Hamdan (R.A.), will be observed with great religious devotion and spiritual fervor at Khanqah-e-Awal in Wachi Zainpora on 23 May 2026, corresponding to 6th Zil Haj 1447 Hijri.

The sacred occasion commemorates the life, teachings, and invaluable contributions of Hazrat Shah-i-Hamdan (R.A.), who played a historic role in spreading Islam, spirituality, brotherhood, and peace across Kashmir.

As part of the Urs celebrations, a spiritually uplifting Shab Khawani will be organized on the night preceding the Urs. Devotees and followers from different areas are expected to participate in the gathering to seek blessings and engage in remembrance of Almighty Allah.

The night-long spiritual program will include:

Recitation of the Holy Qur’an

Darood Sharif (salutations upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ)

Azkar and remembrance of Allah

Waaz and Islamic sermons

Tableegh and spiritual teachings

The event aims to strengthen spiritual values, promote unity, and inspire people to follow the teachings of the great saint. Organizers said the gathering will provide an atmosphere of devotion, reflection, and peace for all participants.

The Organizing Committee of Khanqah-e-Awal, Wachi Zainpora, has warmly invited people from all walks of life to attend the Urs and Shab Khawani and pay homage to Hazrat Shah-i-Hamdan (R.A.).

The committee prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the prayers and blessings of the gathering and guides the community on the path of righteousness and spirituality.

The Urs Mubarak of Baba Payam Ud Din Reshi will be observed with great respect, devotion, and spiritual fervor on 19 May 2026 at the revered shrine of Baba Reshi in Tangmarg. Devotees from different parts of the valley are expected to gather to offer prayers, seek blessings, and participate in religious ceremonies marking the occasion. The annual Urs reflects the rich spiritual heritage and deep faith associated with the saint and serves as a symbol of peace, unity, and devotion.
