Kada jedan od naših nastavnika geografije iz starijih razreda posjeti niže razrede osnovne škole, učenici postaju učitelji!
Iako on nije njihov redovni razredni učitelj, dio je naše čvrsto povezane nastavničke ekipe u kojoj svi edukatori rade sa svim uzrastima djece u školi. Upravo zbog tog bliskog odnosa, djeca su otvoreno i s velikim entuzijazmom reagovala na postavljeni izazov: izaberi svoj omiljeni materijal, predstavi mi ga i nauči me kako funkcioniše.
Učionicu je preplavio entuzijazam, dok su djeca s mnogo samopouzdanja i jasnoće vodila nastavnika kroz svoj svakodnevni rad. U Montessori pristupu, kada dijete može s lakoćom poučavati nekog drugog, pokazuje da je gradivo zaista usvojeno.
Gledati mlađe učenike kako tako lijepo dijele ljubav prema učenju s nastavnikom starijih razreda bio je divan podsjetnik na to koliko je naša zajednica jaka i povezana.

When one of our upper-grade geography teachers visits Lower Elementary, the students become the educators!
While he isn’t their regular classroom teacher, he is part of our tightly-knit faculty team where all educators support and interact with students across the whole school. Because of that familiar bond, the children were incredibly responsive and enthusiastic when he gave them a wonderful challenge: choose your favorite material, present it to me, and teach me how it works.
The room was instantly buzzing with excitement as the children eagerly guided him through their daily work with absolute clarity and poise. In Montessori, when a child can confidently teach a concept to someone else, it shows they have truly mastered it. Watching our younger students share their love of learning so beautifully with an upper-grade teacher was a wonderful reminder of how confident, capable, and connected our community really is.

Na času biologije učenici su predstavljali biljke iz herbara kojeg su sami pripremili te ih određivali pomoću ključeva za determinaciju. Kroz ovaj proces ne samo da su proširivali svoja znanja o biljkama, već su istovremeno razvijali vještine posmatranja, preciznost i logičko razmišljanje.
U Montessori pristupu znanje se ne prima pasivno, već se aktivno gradi kroz umni rad, rad rukama i stvarno iskustvo. Zato ovakve aktivnosti imaju posebnu vrijednost, dijete postaje istraživač i aktivni učesnik u vlastitom učenju. Kada samo otkrije i imenuje ono što proučava, znanje postaje trajno i smisleno.

In biology class, students worked with herbariums that they had prepared and identified themselves using classification keys. Through this process, they not only learned about plants, but also developed observation skills, precision, and logical thinking.
In the Montessori approach, knowledge is not something that is passively received, but actively built through hands, mind, and real experience. That is why activities like these are especially valuable. Each child becomes a researcher, a scientist, and a keeper of their own knowledge. When a child independently discovers and names what they are studying, that knowledge becomes lasting and alive.

Deset godina smo posmatrali kako ovi nevjerovatni mladi ljudi iz dana u dan ispunjavaju to obećanje. Od vrtića pa sve do završetka devetog razreda, naši učenici su rasli zajedno, učili zajedno i gradili zajednicu koja će zauvijek ostati njihova.
Srednja škola vas čeka, maturanti. A mi ćemo uvijek biti tu, da vas bodrimo s mjesta gdje je vaš put i počeo.

For ten years, we have watched these incredible individuals fulfill that promise day by day. From our preschool circles to our Grade 9 graduation, our students have grown together, learned together, and built a community that will always belong to them.
