As the war in Ukraine continues, an initiative is working to ensure that the stories of survivors and witnesses are not lost in time or propaganda. The Reckoning Project is not only documenting Russian war crimes in real time but also transforming personal testimonies into legally admissible evidence, challenging disinformation, and pushing for justice on a global scale.

Panel "Documenting Russian War Crimes in Ukraine: An Introduction to The Reckoning Project" opened a conversation about the importance of preserving evidence and truth in the face of ongoing war and disinformation.
Journalists Iryna Kyporenko and Mykhaylo Shtekel, members of The Reckoning Project, discussed how personal testimonies from the front lines are transformed into legally admissible evidence. The panel, moderated by Elliot Short (Open Information Partnership), explored how this initiative documents war crimes and counters false narratives.
