A Good News Transformation Story ❤️

Lunar was a very sick little kitten when some kind Yass people found her in their yard. Covered in fleas and wet. They de-flea-ed and dried and fed her and contacted us. Our Vet diagnosed cat flu and prescribed antibiotics for her secondary infections - she was a very strongly determined little cat even in such bad shape. We kept her isolated and she had more than one course of antibiotics before being allowed to share with kitten friends and older rescue cats as well.

Fast forward to today and she has been adopted and settled in very well. Her adoptive family couldn’t be happier and arthur says -
“ we have older cats - very set in their ways ( and a small house) and it was a worry - how would this new kitten get along with the others
- would they hate each other ? would it take months of careful adjustment ?
- Would it work at all?
- Acknowledging every situation and every cat is different.

None of what we were concerned about happened - I believe largely due to the fostering approach of Yass Valley Cat Rescue.
Matilda ( once Lunar) was very well socialised and took to calmly introducing herself and adjusting to the resident cats - who really didn’t stand a chance against this little charm cannon.

I don’t think this would have happened without the socialisation and fostering approach of the rescue group.

As a result they are all getting along really well and have a bright happy fur family future ahead owning our couch.”

Update 17 July - Mr Stique is adopted ❤️❤️
Are you the perfect match? In particular - do you have an enclosed cat run accessible from the house?

These very handsome cats are former colony cats from Harden -
Mama Kiki is an orange tabby, the smallest of the three and the bravest. Approximately 2 and 1/2 years old.
Marble is a tri-colour tabby, Kiki’s daughter and the shyest of the three. Approximately 2 years old.
Mr Stique is ginger and white, Kiki’s son and the biggest of the three. Approximately 2 years old.

They remain shy of strangers but after a year in foster care all three like to be patted and brushed (see separate video post), communicate with people and play with toys, and both Marble and Mr Stique will lick treats from your fingers.
They are not yet lap cats but are evolving all the time. In foster care they have been living in an enclosed verandah but they now show interest in coming inside - so if they were adopted somewhere with a cat run where they could get used to their new outdoor space first, and then come inside when they felt comfortable, they could well turn into lap cats 🤷‍♀️

They live together very happily and Marble would probably be best adopted together with her mother or brother for company.

All are desexed and microchipped. They are lovely cats but they will need the right conditions to be happy. If you think you might be their perfect match please contact us.
