⚠️ SCAM ALERT – Really don't think the ATO has started making cheese! ⚠️

Scammers are once again sending fake emails pretending to be from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), hoping you’ll click on their links.

💡 Here’s your first clue it’s fake: Check who the email was actually sent from.

In this example, the email claims to be from the ATO… but the sender’s email address belongs to a cheese factory! Unless the ATO has branched out into making cheddar, it’s safe to say this one is a scam. 🧀

🚫 Never click on links or open attachments in emails like these.
If you’re unsure:
✅ Check the sender’s email address, not just the display name.
✅ Don’t click any links.
✅ Log in to your ATO account by typing the official website into your browser yourself or using the myGov app.
✅ If you’re still unsure, contact the ATO directly using their official contact details.

A few seconds spent checking the sender could save you from handing your personal information to scammers.

Remember: If something doesn't look right trust your instincts!

Stay safe and always Stop. Think. Verify.

Wow what a storm we had last night! 🌧

With the amount of rain we've had, our rivers and waterways will continue to rise over the coming days.

This is another timely reminder - never drive through floodwater! It only takes a small amount of fast-moving water to sweep a vehicle away, and you never know what damage may be hidden beneath the surface. If you are heading out today allow yourself extra time. Our roads are already showing signs of wear and with more rain falling, more potholes are bound to appear so please be cautious.

Slow down, leave plenty of space between you and the car in front of you, and if you come across floodwater, turnaround.
