For many of us, music (and especially the music of the Stone Roses) is an integral part of who we are. It binds us to others who share that same passion, creating connections that last a lifetime. It’s the soundtrack to our youth, the pulse behind some of the most meaningful moments we’ve ever known, and something woven deep into our souls.
We were reminded of this truth on Sunday.
We had been due to have one of Dom’s lifelong friends and hometown bandmate from Blackpool, Mickey Brown, supporting us this weekend. Very sadly, Mickey’s trip to Australia was cancelled when his brother Martin passed away unexpectedly and tragically in March.
Martin was, among his many important roles in his too-short life, a talismanic figure in Blackpool, inspiring many with his discerning taste in great music, clothes, film and culture.
As we dedicated this song to Mickey and his much-missed brother, Mickey happened to join us by chance via FaceTime from Blackpool and watched our rendition of Tightrope. It was a special, serendipitous moment.
We are so grateful that Mickey liked our version and was able to be there with us. We’d like to think that Martin was with us in spirit to.
We dedicate this to them both. We look forward to joining you on stage here before too long, Mickey.
R.I.P. Martin Brown. 🍋

Bit of fun with Elizabeth My Dear tonight to bring the Roses fully into the modern generation 😮🤣
Massive thanks to everyone who came down to support both gigs, we really appreciate it 🫶🏼 It was so much fun to bring these tunes to Melbourne for the very first time for you all 🙌🏻
Big shout-out to for use of their stage and their amazing Mushroom Parma’s 🍄
We cannot wait to come back to Melbourne in October with Reni (Robbo) and Mani (Pete) in tow for the full Roses experience 🙌🏻

About Last Night…
We were meant to play an acoustic set…
Yeah, that didn’t last long.
Enter: a Johnny Marr custom Fender Jaguar just sitting there like it knew exactly what it was doing.
Dom saw it.
Dom fell in love. 😍
What followed was pure Manchester mischief…
Squire’s signature jangle ringing out all over Marr’s Jag like it was always meant to happen.
Huge thanks to for having us 🙌🏻
Cold? Yep.
Wet? A bit.
Vibes? Through the roof as souls soared to ‘Ribbon in the Sky’ levels
Round two tonight…
More Jag magic incoming where Dom will continue to bravely ignore the fact it’s rocking full Manchester City blue 🩵😏

Two sleeps to our first Melbourne shows: The Stone Roses unplugged, performed by our Ian Brown, Danny Innes and our John Squire, Dom White. We play Hopheads in Point Cook on Saturday and The Windsor Alehouse near St Kilda on Sunday. 6pm kick off both nights. Expect first album bangers, jangly early singles, B-sides that could have been A-sides, and the odd peach off The Second Coming Cannae wait.
He is Risen and so are we with some exciting Easter news!!!
After causing a stir up in Sydney, we’re now bringing the swagger down south as we announce our first Melbourne show with an unplugged acoustic show at Hopheads Point Cook on Saturday 11th April at 6pm.
A stripped-back session with melodic vibes we will bring the classics to life through our very own Squire (Dom) and Brownie (Danny) pairing
This will be the Roses in all it’s jingly-jangly glory.
Vocals. Acoustic Guitar. Attitude.
It’s a free gig so no excuses.
This is your chance to be there before it all kicks off properly because come October, the full band lands and the Resurrection turns into the Ascension.
So come down, have a few and sing it loud!
Dom on the honey-sweet melodies.
Danny with the renowned Mancunian swagger.
You... Front and centre.
We're looking forward to seeing all our Melbourne people there👀
