On this day in 1887, Dracula arrived in Whitby in Bram Stoker's novel.
He arrived on The Demeter, inspired by the real ship The Dimitry of Narva (below).
His ship was wrecked on Tatehill Sands, just across the harbour from where the Dracula Experience stands today.
