Parents, carers and kin across WA are invited to play a vital role in shaping how the Thriving Kids program is designed and delivered.
Thriving Kids is a national initiative designed to provide additional support for children aged 0–8 years (inclusive) with developmental delay and/or autism with low to moderate support needs, along with their families and carers. It aims to ensure children and families can access appropriate supports to help them in their everyday lives.
Kiind is working with the Department of Communities to host a series of consultation sessions to better understand the experiences, needs, and priorities of WA families. These sessions are a valuable opportunity to have your voice heard.

Did you know? Many people think Easy Read is just about using simple words. 🤔
But the images you choose and the layout and design you use are just as important to help people with intellectual disability understand and use information independently.
At our Introduction to Easy Read workshop you will learn the practical skills you need to create accessible documents, including how to test your documents for accessibility.

What if some of the things we believe about disability just aren’t true? 🤔
John and Theresa from DDWA have kicked off their work on a new podcast - Speaking Up in the Bush.
Each episode will take on a different common myth about disability and use real evidence and lived experience to inform, empower, and shift thinking.
Part of a national project funded by Inclusion Australia, the podcast will focus on helping people with disability in rural and remote areas understand self-advocacy and gain the tools to speak up.
As John shared: “We deeply care about people with disabilities, and we want this podcast to be an invaluable tool for all people with disability, their families and carers going forward.”
Is there a myth about disability you wish would be busted?
