I used to be exhausted working 40 hours + in the gym each week then work my 2nd job on the weekend just to pay the bills & get by... This was my PT life for 8 years until one of my mentors asked me "what would happen to your business if you had a week off?". At the time my answer was, "well I'd move some sessions before and after the week and I would be ok...", he then asked me "what would happen if you had 4 weeks away from your business?" I answered with "I wouldn't have a business to come back to." this is when I realised I didn't have a business that could run without me being there. For me to achieve true freedom, something needed to change...

Luckily, something did change & just a few months ago I spent 25 days travelling around the world while my business still ran, my clients still trained, I still got paid & I fitted right back into it when I returned. I then realised I'd achieved my goal of building a successful business that can operate without me & I work because I choose to, not because I have to.

It took me years of searching, studying & investing time, money & energy into discovering how to do it.

And until Sunday I'm going to share with you my 5 step process to creating a successful PT business that pays you even when you're not there.

If you'd like a copy of my 5 steps all you need to do is pm me with "I'd like 5 steps" and I'll send a copy directly to you.

This week I’ve had a few discussions with Personal Trainers & business owners about their current situations & why they were unhappy with the results they are currently getting, or not getting and blaming external factors for their internal feeling or disappointment. The same principle I’m about to explain relates to business just as much as it does relationships and your health.

Two words… Responsibility & Expectation.

Response-ability is an ability we all have as human beings. It’s our ability to respond when faced with a stimulus. The decision we make, directly affects the result we attain from each circumstance. Sometimes we cannot control the circumstances but we can control how we respond to it, therefore how you decide to respond will change the intended outcome, negatively or positively. We’re ultimately responsible for everything we have or do not have within our lives right now, because… that’s what we chose.

You might be thinking well I didn’t choose to have a s**t week in business or, I didn’t choose to have an argument or I didn’t choose to become fat. My point is, YES… YES YOU DID, by all the choices you made leading up to getting that undesired result… BUT… stay with me before you react/respond in a way that may not help you to achieve your desired result about why you started reading this in the first place.

You might ask the question... “If I’m not happy with what I currently have/am getting, how do I change it?” (Glad you asked) You start by responding differently when presented with a situation that challenges you.

How do we change our response?

We ask better questions.

And the first question we ask must be directed towards ourselves. It should be “why am I unhappy/disappointed/challenged by the results I’m getting from the choices I make?”

Disappointment ultimately comes down to your expectations not being met.

If your results don’t match your expectations, what needs to change so you’re no longer disappointed with the outcome? Should the external environment be changed to achieve the desired result (most common ie. The economy needs to change so there's more money or we need to stop putting fast food ads on tv so people stop getting fat) or should the response we choose be changed to align with the internal expectations (rare ie. I won't watch tv tonight, instead i'll read a book or instead of getting annoyed at someone, I'm going to seek to understand them first)?

If you want to stop being disappointed with the results you are or are not getting, change what you expect from yourself first.
If you’re not prepared to change your expectations, you will not be in control of the results you’re not choosing to receive.

Why motivation isn't real... Mel is legit, especially when she's talking about phone addiction.
