πŸ“° Excited to share my July Westsider article! 🎨✨

I'm delighted to feature a meaningful conversation with Myra and Divya Jindal, exploring the important role creativity plays in a child's development.

Creativity is so much more than making art. It helps children learn, express their emotions, build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and support their overall mental and emotional wellbeing. Through painting, drawing, crafting, and imaginative play, children are given a safe space to express themselves, slow down, and discover the joy of creating something uniquely their own.
It was a privilege to hear Myra and Divya's insights and learn more about the positive impact that nurturing creativity can have on young minds.

A heartfelt thank you to Barbara and the entire Westsider team for once again giving me the opportunity to contribute to the July edition. I'm truly grateful to be part of a publication that shares stories which inspire, educate, and strengthen our community.
I hope you enjoy reading this month's article and that it encourages families to embrace the power of creativity in helping children flourish. πŸ’™

Tuesday’s Thought

A friend recently asked me,

β€œHow is he so emotionally aware at such a young age?”

I smiled because the answer is found in the little things
πŸ“š bedtime stories,
🎡 songs,
πŸ’¬and everyday conversations.

I’m not just raising a boy; I’m raising a future man. Every day I aim to teach him:
🀍 Respect women and treat everyone with dignity.
🀍 Stand up for yourself and for those who need a voice.
🀍 Be kind, but have strong boundaries.
🀍 Take responsibility for your actions.
🀍 Choose character over popularity.
🀍 Let integrity guide every decision.

These are the values I explore in my book,
πŸ“š Raising Resilient Families sharing practical ways parents can build resilience, emotional intelligence, empathy, confidence, and strong character through everyday moments at home.

❀️ The conversations may seem small today, but I hope they’ll shape the man he becomes tomorrow.

πŸ’™ Men's Health Week πŸ’™

As a mum of a son, I think often about the future I want for him.

I want him to grow up knowing that being a man doesn't mean suffering in silence. That strength is having the courage to speak up, seek help, and support others.

I want him to value kindness, respect, empathy, and healthy relationships.
By supporting men's mental health and teaching emotional awareness, we can help prevent family and domestic violence and create safer communities for everyone.

For my son, and for every boy growing into a man, I hope we continue breaking the stigma and raising a generation that feels seen, heard, supported, and valued.
Because men's health matters. And so does building a future free from violence.

🌟 5 Key Takeaways from Myra's Interview on Mindful Moments
1. Creativity Helps Us Express Ourselves 🎨Myra's love for art shows how creativity can help children share their thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Art is a powerful way to build confidence and express emotions.
2. Kindness Makes a Difference ❀️
Throughout the interview, Myra highlighted the importance of being kind to others. Even small acts of kindness can have a positive impact on someone's day and help create a caring community.
3. Believe in Yourself and Try New Things 🌱Myra's achievements remind us that confidence grows when we step outside our comfort zones. Trying something new, even when we feel nervous, can lead to wonderful opportunities.
4. Cultural Diversity is a Strength 🌏
Having lived in both Australia and India and speaking both Hindi and English, Myra shared the value of understanding different cultures. Diversity helps us learn from one another and build respect and connection.
5. Young People Can Make a Positive Impact ⭐
Myra's ANZAC Day artwork and thoughtful answers demonstrate that age does not limit the ability to inspire others. Every child has a voice, unique talents, and the potential to make a difference in the world.

We would like to acknowledge that Myra's interview was made possible with the permission and support of her parents, Divya and Vikrant.
