With all the industry updates flooding the media at the moment, we wanted to share some facts with the Maxon network. We all need mortgage brokers to maintain freedom of lending choices, lending competition and better outcomes for the consumer. The current broker remuneration model works where our clients receive Maxon's outstanding service and lending solutions at no cost to them, instead the bank pays us a commission and trail income from their profits. Given mortgage brokers account for over 50% of the banks current new business, it seems a fair remuneration scale for all involved. The customer gets their desired outcome with a lending solution that is not unsuitable, the lender gets new business and the broker is being paid suitably for services rendered.
