“Sewa!” Along with hands in prayer, this is the greeting in the language of Nepal’s Indigenous Kulung people. While staying in the small village of Chhekma, we we’re being warmly greeted by every person we encounter. Travelling with the team filming Carrying Everest - a documentary exploring and understanding the Mahakulung, the region of the Kulung people. Many Kulung work as porters for the tourism industry in the Himalayas, and Carrying Everest follows the Kulung porters’ journey all the way to Everest Base Camp.

We are travelling with the team filming Carrying Everest - a documentary exploring and understanding the Mahakulung, the region of the Kulung people.
