Kurt & Harry 49er

The second day of gold fleet racing was a tricky day on the water. Kurt and I sailed another consistent day though scoring a 6th, 3rd, 8th and a 2nd which puts us in first place overall going into the last day of racing. Two races planned for tomorrow, with very light breeze forecast.

Kurt and I had a good day for the first day of gold fleet racing today. We had four races in about 15 to 20 knots. We scored a 1st, 3rd, an unlucky OCS and a 1st. We sailed we'll and very consistent which puts us in 5th overall at the moment but we will be looking good after a drop. Another four races planned for tomorrow with the same breeze forecast.

The final day of qualifying was a good day on the water for Kurt and and I. We had a 10 to 12 knot SSW on our course which made it perfect conditions to complete the final two races of qualification. We managed to get two consistent results scoring an 8th (after being back in the twenty's around the top mark) and a 1st. We qualified in second place which puts us in a great position for the first day of finals racing tomorrow.

The final day of racing was an extremely tough day with breezes varying from 5 to 15 knots and massive wind shifts. Three race were planned but only one was completed due to the conditions, we were lucky enough to come away with a first in that one. We finished the regatta in first overall which we are extremely happy with. Now for a days rest then straight into worlds.
