This bookcase took me waaaaaay too long. Does anyone else fuss and touch-up and re-sand (and procrastinate) and repaint their way through some pieces? That was me with this one 🙋🏻♀️🙈 And I have to say, painting a large bookshelf wasn’t fun. Too many corners and nooks and crannies!! But she’s finished now and she proved to be very popular on Marketplace. It looks like she’ll be sold today! 🤞🏻
She’s so tall that it was hard to get pictures of the whole piece at once.
And swipe to see the only ‘before’ shot I got 🤦🏻♀️👉🏻

I’m such a sucker for distressed black furniture. This little hall table was in pretty rough shape but had gorgeous details and was solid structurally, so it was a perfect candidate for some black chalk paint & light distressing.
Painted in Annie Sloan Athenian Black, then lightly distressed, sealed with AS black wax, distressed some more and then finished off with AS clear wax. I sealed the top with clear poly so it’s super durable.
It sold so quickly! And has now gone to its new home 🖤

I wanted to add some interest to this single bedside I had, so I did raised stenciling on the fronts of the drawers. Now with a fresh lick of paint and new k***s she’s ready for a new home 💚

A close up of some custom bedsides I completed for a client using Annie Sloan Pure White chalk paint. I lightly distressed them and sealed them with Annie Sloan clear wax, AND I used the small Annie Sloan wax brush for the first time. The shape of the handle, dense bristles and pointed tip made it so easy! Thoroughly enjoyed using it and it’s now my go-to wax brush 🙌🏻 (Not sponsored. Just a fan 😆)
