Every appointment felt special. Karen is incredibly kind, calm and non-judgemental, and she always made me feel like I was her priority. Our appointments were never rushed, and we were able to cover so much each time. The conversations felt real, practical and genuinely supportive.

While the public system absolutely has its place, I personally felt I needed more support and continuity during my pregnancy, and I’m so grateful I chose to have a private midwife alongside my care.

Looking back, Perth Maternity was such an important part of the lead-up to the arrival of my daughter. Nothing can truly prepare you for becoming a parent, but this support came incredibly close.

"I honestly can’t speak highly enough about my experience with the personalised care program.

Being followed by a midwife made such a difference for me. The continuity of care is something you just can’t compare. Seeing the same person throughout the whole pregnancy and postnatal period builds trust and makes you feel safe.

What I really appreciated is that Perth Maternity offers care as a whole, not just medical appointments. It’s not only about checks and results, it’s emotional support, guidance, reassurance, and someone genuinely walking alongside you.

I always knew that if I had any concerns, Karen was just a text message away. She would reply as soon as she could and always had my best interests at heart. I felt heard, respected in my choices, and truly supported.

Thanks to her care, guidance and support, I was able to have a VBAC after two C-sections. After two traumatic births, this meant everything to me. She listened to me, gave me the strength to speak up for what I wanted, and guided me toward the right hospital care that would support my choices. Even though Karen wasn’t physically there at the birth, the preparation during pregnancy and the postnatal support made my birthing experience positive and empowering.

The hospital we chose knew Karen very well, she is clearly well respected in Perth, and you can feel that when you mention her name. That gave me even more confidence.

Karen has supported me through all my pregnancies and miscarriages, but this time felt different. The bond I have created with her will stay with me forever.

🐞Our Cockburn Clinics🐞

The primary clinics for Perth Maternity are based in Cockburn.

Our beloved Karen Kruit offers her personalised care program at Cockburn Integrated Health three-four times as week, alternating her Wednesday clinics with our St John Cockburn clinic where we can offer our postnatal care and child immunisations.

The brilliant Stephanie (CIH) and Lesley (St John) offer shared care clinics once a week for our families seeking a community care program. These clinics include antenatal care and postnatal support for the first 6 weeks of our new families journey.
