π¨ HELP US PROTECT OUR PLAYERS π¨
FC Strathmore Split has launched a campaign calling on Moonee Valley City Council to remove dangerous permanent concrete cricket pitches from multi-use football grounds and replace them with safer alternatives.
Our home ground, Strathnaver Reserve β Pitch 2, has a permanent concrete cricket pitch running through the centre of the football field. With more than 20 junior teams, along with our senior players, using this ground every week, we believe the time has come to put player safety first.
Recent events have highlighted the devastating consequences that can occur when hard playing surfaces are present on sporting fields. This campaign is about preventing future injuries and protecting all playersβfrom our youngest juniors to our senior footballers.
We need your help, and we ask that you complete BOTH of the following:
β
1. Sign our Change.org petition to demonstrate widespread community support and help us build momentum for change.
π https://c.org/M8PhHBQfZt
β
2. Complete our Official Council Petition (Jotform).
π https://form.jotform.com/261891087913062
This second form is essential because Moonee Valley City Council requires petitioners to provide identifying details for a petition to be formally considered. By completing the Jotform, your support can be included in our official submission to Council.
Please take a few extra moments to complete both forms and then share this post with your family, friends, teammates and fellow sporting clubs.
Together, we can help create safer sporting facilities for our children, our families and future generations.
Protect our players. Remove the risk. Act before another tragedy occurs. β½β€οΈπ€π
