Cooks River Fun Run

The Cooks River Fun Run is back in 2025!

Race Hub Australia is excited to bring Strathfield's favorite fun run back to life on Sunday June 22nd 2025 at Freshwater Park.

The Cooks River Fun Run is a local favorite and has been held at Freshwater Park from 2011 to 2022. Similar to those previous years, this event will feature a 10k, 5k and 2k Family Dash.

After the decision by the previous council to cancel the event in recent years, we’ve read through many of your comments and understand your frustration. While Race Hub Australia is a separate entity from the council, we’d like to thank the current council for their decision to bring this wonderful event back to the Strathfield community.

At Race Hub Australia, we strive to make racing less intimidating for beginners by fostering an inclusive environment for runners and walkers of all abilities and backgrounds. Our events attract many new runners, which is fantastic, and with Australia experiencing a major running boom, we’re committed to welcoming as many as possible.

Council has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2023 and 2024 Cooks River Fun Run. We’d like to thank everyone for their support and participation in the Cooks River Fun Run over the years. Keep fit and we hope to see you at future Council events!
