πŸ“πŸŒ Student Achievement Spotlight πŸŒπŸ“

Congratulations to Lydia T. on her outstanding achievements in table tennis!

Having played since a young age, Lydia's dedication to training and competition has seen her develop remarkable skill, resilience and confidence. Recently, she travelled to China for an intensive training program, spending long days refining her technique, building stamina and learning the importance of discipline and perseverance πŸ’ͺ✨

Lydia was also invited to represent Australia at an international table tennis tournament in Thailand🌏, where she competed in the Under 13 category and achieved an impressive Top 16 finish πŸ†

We are incredibly proud of Lydia's commitment, determination and willingness to challenge herself on the international stage. Her achievements are a wonderful example of what can be accomplished through hard work and dedication πŸ‘πŸ’œ

Congratulations to our Year 10 Drawing and Sculpture students on their thought-provoking and creative works πŸŽ¨πŸŒβ™»οΈ

Using found and reclaimed materials, students designed and constructed sculptures that explore important environmental issues and encourage us to think more deeply about our impact on the world around us.

This project reflects our commitment to Living with Justice, Leading with Kindness and Living with Compassion, as students used art to advocate for sustainability and care for our common home πŸŒΏπŸ’œ

Please enjoy these inspiring examples of creativity, innovation and environmental awareness.

KEM First Nations Immersion πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

During Term 2, three Social Justice Leaders and two staff members from Killester College attended the Kildare Ministries First Nations Immersion, hosted by Clonard College on Wathaurong Country 🌿

As part of the immersion, Killester students joined representatives from Kildare Ministries schools across Australia, with First Nations students and students from many cultures and backgrounds coming together in a spirit of connection, listening and learning 🀝✨

Throughout the programme, students and staff participated in the ancient tradition of yarning around a campfire, visited the Booln Booln Cultural Centre and engaged in First Nations art workshops 🎨πŸ”₯

This experience provided a meaningful opportunity to deepen understanding, strengthen relationships and continue our commitment to justice, respect and reconciliation.
