This August, the dedicated team from the Peter Copulos Cancer Centre will be lacing up their running shoes for the Campbell's Shepparton Running Festival to support the I Care for Cancer Care @ GV Health appeal.
Every kilometre they run will help raise funds towards a new Integrated Cancer Centre at Goulburn Valley Health. Once complete, the facility will bring all cancer care services under the one roof and ensure local patients can access the care they need, closer to home.
You can show your support for our amazing cancer care staff and help make every step count by sponsoring the I Care for Cancer Care running team: gvhealthfoundation.supporterhub.net.au/fundraising/shepparton-runners-festival/i-care-for-cancer-care

Thanks to local mum and GV Health oncology patient Sarah for sharing her story.
Cancer doesn't just affect your health. It impacts your family, your work, your finances and every part of daily life.
For Sarah, receiving cancer treatment close to home at GV Health has meant more time with her family, less time travelling, and the ability to continue working while focusing on what matters most: her health.
Sarah's story highlights why access to local cancer care matters and why, as a Foundation, we are working hard to build support for the I Care for Cancer Care @ GV Health appeal.

Thank you also to Shepparton News journalist Bree Harding for covering our patient stories and helping share these important experiences with the community.

A new GV Health initiative, Hope for Little Hearts, is helping ensure children receive comfort, care and a sense of belonging during some of life's most challenging moments.
Thanks to the support of GV Health Foundation and the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, Specialist Paediatrician Dr Donna Greyling with the help of ED nurse Rachel Salter has introduced 40 Hope for Little Hearts backpacks for children who present to the Emergency Department and are separated from their carer for various reasons during admission or are leaving hospital in foster care.
Each backpack has been packed with practical essentials and comforting items, including pyjamas, socks, underwear, toiletries, books, toys, craft activities, a soft toy, a knitted blanket and a drink bottle.
The initiative complements GV Health's commitment to trauma-informed care by helping create a more supportive experience for children during their time in the Emergency Department. Importantly, each child also leaves with belongings they can call their own, providing a small but meaningful source of comfort as they move to a new environment.
GV Health Foundation is proud to support initiatives like Hope for Little Hearts that enhance the care experience for patients and families. We congratulate Dr Donna Greyling on bringing this thoughtful program to life and thank everyone involved in making it possible.

Every donation has a story. Over the coming months, the GV Health Foundation will be sharing some of the motivations behind the people, groups, workplaces and organisations who support our I Care for Cancer Care @ GV Health appeal.
Today, we'd like to acknowledge the generous support of the G.V. Woodworkers, who have donated $1,000. The club is passionate about giving back to local charities, and this year chose to support cancer care at Goulburn Valley Health. For many of their members and their families, cancer is a journey that has touched them personally, making this cause particularly meaningful.
We are incredibly grateful to the GV Woodworkers for their generosity and for helping ensure local people can access exceptional cancer care close to home.
