It's been a busy week ticking off those small maintenance jobs that make a big difference for our Rental Providers and tenants.
This time, it was a rental home in Seaholme where sections of the slate floor had started lifting. Luckily, there was some slate sealer left in the garage, so while the kids were away for the school holidays, I was able to clean and recoat the affected areas.
With the strong odour from the sealer, I left the ceiling fans and heater running, with the doors open to help it cure properly. I'll be back in a few days to apply the second coat and complete the job.
These are the sorts of things that don't always require an expensive contractor. Where we can, we're happy to roll up our sleeves and take care of the smaller jobs ourselves, helping our Rental Providers save money while keeping their properties well maintained.
That's the difference between simply managing a property and genuinely looking after an investment.
