"Then he began to reproach the cities in which most of His deeds of power had been done, because they did not repent." — Matthew 11:20
In Matthew 11:20–24, Jesus reminds us that witnessing God's work is only the beginning. His miracles were invitations to changed hearts, renewed lives, and a deeper relationship with Him. The challenge wasn't a lack of evidence—it was a lack of response.
This passage encourages us to reflect on how we respond to God's grace each day. Are we simply observers of goodness, or are we allowing love to transform the way we live, speak, and care for others?
May we have hearts that are open to his call, quick to repent, and willing to follow wherever it leads.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your mercy and the many ways You reveal Yourself to us. Help us to respond with humble hearts, turning to You each day and living lives that reflect Your love and truth. Amen.
"Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Yesterday evening, two powerful earthquakes struck Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, causing loss of life and damage to the area.
Reports say the earthquakes were 7.2 and 7.8 in magnitude, occurring within seconds of one another and have caused widespread panic and disorder. Buildings have collapsed, including extensive damage to the international airport, people have been killed and injured and many communities are facing fear, disruption and uncertainty in the wake of the tremors.

🙏 We pray for the people of Venezuela, especially all those affected in Caracas.
🙏 We hold before God those who have died, those who are injured, those who are still missing and all who are grieving.
🙏 We pray for people whose homes, schools, churches, businesses and communities have been damaged.
🙏 We give thanks for emergency responders, medical teams, local authorities, churches and community organisations offering help, shelter and care as survivors continue to be found in the rubble.
🙏 We pray for the Diocese of Venezuela in The Episcopal Church and its ministry to communities at this difficult time.

God of mercy,
draw near to all who are afraid, grieving or facing uncertainty.
Strengthen those who are in positions of leadership or responding with courage and compassion.
Protect those still in danger,
comfort those who mourn
and guide all who work to bring relief, healing and hope.
