Because Labor can’t keep control of their spending, every dog and cat owner is going to have to cough up more money to register their pet.

Under new laws, registration fees for dogs and cats will double, hitting more than one million Victorian households.

At a time when families are already facing record taxes and rising costs, Victorians should not be paying more just to own a dog or cat.

I was delighted to attend the Frankston Mornington Peninsula LLEN Peninsula Applied Learning (PAL) Awards earlier this week with my colleague Chris Crewther MP - Member for Mornington.

Over 70 students received awards, including students from Advance College, Dromana College, Rosebud Secondary, Padua College, and Peninsula Specialist College, in the Nepean electorate.

Congratulations to everyone who received an award! 👏🏆

Thanks to the team at Woolworths Rye for the tour today.

Across Nepean there are 3 Woolworths stores with 431 team members, increasing significantly during peak season when the Rye store becomes the busiest in Australia.

Their dedicated team members work around the clock, with a workforce that is 52% female and 42% under the age of 25.

Unfortunately, Victoria also accounts for 42% of all reported cases of violence and aggression in stores across Australia.

I will have more to say in the time ahead about how we can keep retail stores safe.

Statement on Shadow Ministerial appointments.

Today I have been appointed as Shadow Minister for Public Transport, Shadow Minister for Ports and Freight, and Shadow Minister for Aviation.

These portfolios are central to the movement of people and goods across our state and are vital for Victoria’s economic growth and prosperity.

The logistical challenges faced by our commercial ports, freight transport, and public transport systems must be overcome if we are to move forward as a state.

Locally in my electorate of Nepean, there is a lack of public transport options which I will be looking to address as a priority.

I am grateful to have served in my previous portfolios, including Tourism, Sport and Events, for the past three years and I look forward to the new challenge.

I will be working as part of a strong Liberals and Nationals team to give a fresh start to Victorians at the next State Election in November 2026.
