Our Roma team, joined by some of the Wild Desert crew, recently completed the First Minutes Matter program with LifeFlight Australia — and we couldn't think of a more worthwhile way to spend a morning.

Delivered free by experienced critical care medical staff, the program teaches the practical, hands-on skills that matter most before professional help arrives: CPR, AED use, managing severe bleeding, burns, choking, strokes, seizures, and snake bites.

When you work in a regional environment, knowing what to do in those critical first moments isn't just a good idea — it's everything.

With handling systems fully undercover and a purpose-built setup, this move has delivered a major boost in capability and capacity, allowing us to scale our casing threading output.

Whether he’s out visiting rigs and mine sites or working through the finer details with clients, James is focused on making sure the right solutions get delivered the right way. Eight years in, his calm, practical approach and strong understanding of both operations and client needs have made him a trusted part of the Sharpe® team.

✨What does your job entail?✨
I like to think I'm a bridge between our clients and the Sharpe® workshop and warehouse — deciphering what one another needs with a level head to get the job done.

✨What’s the best/most interesting part of your role?✨
Visiting different companies, rigs, and mine sites.

✨Best career lesson so far?✨
Look after yourself — so you can look after everyone around you.

✨What do you enjoy most about working at Sharpe®?✨
I work with a bunch of mates I've known for 15+ years. Seeing everyone grow together, thanks to the opportunities here, makes me happy.

✨When you are not at work, what are you most likely doing?✨
You'll find me in the shed working on bikes or cars — or out having fun with my wife and kids.

✨What’s the coolest thing you are working on right now?✨
Product data sheets. Maybe not glamorous, but genuinely useful for our clients — and that matters.

✨What does your perfect weekend look like?✨
Short grass, clean shed, family and friends.
