City of Rockingham Extraordinary Election 2026

An Extraordinary Election will be held on Thursday, 24 September 2026 to fill one Councillor vacancy in the Rockingham/Safety Bay Ward following a recent resignation.

Extraordinary elections are held outside the normal local government election cycle to fill vacancies that occur mid-term. The successful candidate will serve the remainder of the original term.

The election will be conducted by the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC).

The City’s local government elections are conducted as a postal election.
