One Eye Photography

It's not about the latest gear. My first digital. Along side a well used eos 5 with average glass. I can remember talking to the Oly rep and waiting for this to release in NZ. This 5mp delight took me through a lot of events. Some real estate work. A wedding or two. Field days. The memory cards were 1$ a mb (256mb 250$). There was definitely higher spec DSLR but very expensive.
Along the way I learnt to not chase the latest and greatest bit of gear (like I did for a period). Taking the time to learn the fundamentals of photography, to develop the ability to realise the prevision. ( no vision no photo is what I tell myself)
I now feel after 50 yrs of snapping that the most important pieces of technology I own are lenses. I have never regretted spending money on glass with hindsight. I choose a system and built it based on glass. The modern camera body has in my opinion become a disposable item with what seems a very limited life. Don't be afraid to use whatever you can to learn and create your vision
