Todays Gold Coast Bulletin....
A GOLD Coast company that makes the “Rolls-Royce” of golf bags is no stranger to being on the world sporting stage.
Vessel Golf Australia creates luxury golf bags for international stars such as Tiger Woods, but its latest creation has it feeling “over the moon”.
The Robina company produced the official golf bags for the Australian team at the Tokyo Olympics.
Owner Elly Mclean said the company had worked closely with the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) since 2019 when it was selected as the supplier.
“It was so important to us as an Australian company to make the Australian bags. We’re really over the moon about it,” Ms McLean said.
“We approached the Australian Olympic Committee and, with our previous work, we were selected to be the bag maker for the Australian team.
“The process started in 2019. We’ve been waiting since then to showcase our bag and we finally got there.”
Ms McLean said Vessel Golf produced the official bags for the Aussies and 16 other countries at this year’s Olympics.
She said the company had made golf bags for major events including the Presidents Cup and the PGA Tour.
Vessel Golf Australia is a licensee of the limited edition Australian Olympic bag which has already been sent to customers throughout the world.
“We have the rights to sell back the bag to the general public and we’ve already had sales,” she said.
“We’ve sold one to an Australian in Texas. There’s a lot of Australians overseas who want the bag because they’re limited edition and they just want that piece of history.”
