🎉 Queensland Pickleball Championships – Day 5 Recap 🎉

And just like that, the final day of the Queensland Pickleball Championships was here!

What a way to finish an incredible tournament, with another 30 Focus players taking to the courts for gender doubles. The level of competition was outstanding, but once again our Focus family showed exactly what our club is all about—determination, sportsmanship, plenty of laughs and unwavering support for one another. 💙🏓

🥈🥉 19+ Men’s Doubles 3.49 & Below

This division featured six Focus men, with Matty & Craig, Gavin & Brock, and Martin & John all flying the Focus flag.

A special shoutout to Martin, who competed in his very first tournament. It was fantastic to see the improvement he’s made through all of his drilling and hard work paying off on the court.

Gavin & Brock, also playing in their first tournament together, had an outstanding day and were rewarded with a well-deserved bronze medal.

Meanwhile, Matty & Craig were unstoppable through the pool rounds, earning themselves a place in the gold medal match. They fought hard all the way to the finish, bringing home the silver medal. That elusive gold is still keeping Matty waiting… but we all know it’s only a matter of time! 😉

🥇🥈 19+ Women’s Doubles 3.5–3.99

Another division packed with Focus talent, with Summer & Sophia, Sarah & Rachel, and our coach Caroline & Wendy all competing.

These six ladies embodied everything Focus stands for, showing grit, determination and fighting spirit in every match.

The gold medal match became an all-Focus affair, with Caroline & Wendy taking on Sarah & Rachel. After two hard-fought sets, Caroline & Wendy claimed the gold, while Sarah & Rachel proudly took home the silver. What an awesome showcase of Focus pickleball!

🥈 35+ Women’s Doubles 3.49 & Below

Kirsten & Stacka certainly know how to keep everyone on their toes! After a slow start to the day (we’ll blame the cold! 🥶), they found their rhythm, powered through the semi-finals and booked themselves a place in the gold medal match.

Facing off against friends Isabella & Kellianne, the match had everything—great rallies, plenty of banter, laughter, a few tears and lots of hugs. Although they went down in three thrilling games to finish with silver, it was one of those matches that reminded us why we love this sport.

🥉 50+ Men’s Doubles 3.49 & Below

Another division featuring four Focus players saw Steven & Eric and Simon & Shane battle it out in an all-Focus bronze medal match.

Congratulations to Steven & Eric, who claimed the bronze medal after another fantastic contest between clubmates.

🥇🥈 50+ Women’s Doubles 3.49 & Below

Our Focus ladies were at it again, with Karen & Leanne and Lorrie & Kim making it an all-Focus gold medal match.

While the scoreboard didn’t quite reflect just how incredible the rallies were, the quality of pickleball was outstanding. Congratulations to Lorrie & Kim, who took home the gold, while Karen & Leanne finished with a well-earned silver.

At this rate, we’re not sure Kim and Lorrie have any room left in the medal cabinet! 🏅😄

👏 35+ Men’s Doubles 3.5–3.99

President Mat & Jonah fought their way into the bronze medal playoff, but despite a determined effort, came up against a very strong opposition.

Nathan & Matthiew also had a great tournament together, enjoying some quality matches and plenty of fun along the way.

💪 Open Men’s Doubles

Our young guns Joey & Luther stepped up to compete against some of the best players in the tournament.

While the results didn’t quite fall their way, they more than proved they belong on the Open stage. The future is incredibly bright for these two, and we can’t wait to watch them continue to grow.

💙 What a way to finish QPC!

One of the highlights of the day was looking across the venue and seeing three courts in a row with Focus players competing in gold medal matches. Our supporters had no idea where to sit, who to watch or which court to cheer for—but one thing was certain… they made sure everyone knew Focus was in the house! 📣💙

To every player who represented Focus throughout the championships—whether you brought home a medal, won one match or simply gave it your all—we are incredibly proud of you.

And to our amazing supporters, thank you. Your cheers, encouragement, laughs, banter and unwavering support are what make Focus Pickleball & Tennis more than just a club. We are a community, and this week was the perfect reminder of that.

🎉 Queensland Pickleball Championships – Day 1 Recap 🎉

What a fantastic opening day for our Focus family at the Queensland Pickleball Championships! 💙🏓

We had players representing Focus across the 60+ singles events, along with two of our talented juniors stepping up in the singles competition. The determination, sportsmanship and support shown throughout the day made us incredibly proud.

🥉 60+ Skinny Singles 3.5–3.99
A huge congratulations to Marie, who fought hard to play off for bronze. A fantastic effort and a performance to be proud of!

What an incredible start to QPC for Jill and Leigh!

👏 60+ Men’s Singles 3.5+
A cracking tournament from Craig, who battled it out in the bronze medal playoff. While the medal just slipped away, it was an outstanding performance in only his second singles tournament. The future is looking bright!

Adrian certainly kept us on the edge of our seats! His bronze medal match had everyone holding their breath (especially Carol! 😅), but he dug deep and came away with the bronze medal in an absolute thriller.
