Important: AusAlert test coming soon ⚠️
On 27 July 2026, a test message will be sent to mobile phones across Australia as part of a nationwide test of the new AusAlert emergency system.
Your phone will vibrate and play a loud siren sound for around 10 seconds, even if it is on silent or "Do Not Disturb".
You cannot opt out of receiving this test alert. Resources are available in multiple languages to help you prepare and understand what to expect.

NAIDOC Week | 5 - 12 July 2026
NAIDOC Week is a national celebration of the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The theme for 2026, 50 Years of Deadly, celebrates 5 decades of strength, culture and resilience. It honours the Elders, communities and voices that built this movement, recognises the impact today, and looks ahead to the next generation carrying it forward.

"SLPET helped me develop practical workplace skills." – Zahra
Zahra moved to Australia to continue her career in pharmacy. After studying in the AMEP, she enrolled in the SLPET (English for the Workplace) course at Melbourne Polytechnic, where she developed her English and workplace communication skills.
Through SLPET, Zahra completed a work placement at a community pharmacy, gaining valuable local experience that led to a job as a Pharmacy Technician.
