Thank you Centre for Australia-India Relations for the kind invitation to attend the launch of A New Roadmap for Australia’s Economic Engagement with India.

It was so great to hear from PM Anthony Albanese speak passionately about India’s role as an essential partner in diversifying Australia’s trade links and boosting prosperity. Senator Penny Wong’s speech of why India matters to Australia and Senator Don Farrell’s speech on how India will soon become Australia’s 2nd largest trading partner.

The new roadmap outlines a strategic plan to maximize Australia’s trade opportunities with India, focusing on key sectors such as clean energy, education and skills, agribusiness, and tourism. The initiative aims to boost two-way investment, secure supply chains, and create jobs, leveraging India’s rapid economic growth.
I look forward to seeing the positive impact this collaboration will have on both nations’ economies and communities.
