Performance Diesel Intercoolers

We are at the Perth 4WD Show. Had a good chat with a customer who had a PDI front mount fitted to his VDJ79. Compared to his previous build which had a top mount and made 800Nm the new build makes 900Nm. He stated that his couldn’t believe how much difference there is between 800 and 900Nm. I was able to explain that with our front mount you will get cold air all the time and maintain the 900Nm under real driving conditions, but when you have a top mount the Dyno tuner has to artificially cool down the core to do your last power run and when you hit the beach or go up a long hill the top mount can’t dissipate the heat so the ECU pulls fuel out and he is probably only getting less than 600Nm when he wants it the most. Both vehicles on display are fitted with PDI 6 speed auto kits and the 105 has the 300 series V6 and a locking TORSEN L*D in the rear.
