Values are the things that matter to you. They influence your actions and reaction, your connections and your conflicts. And they affect the way you do business.
I got to talk about all this and more this afternoon with a group of intelligent and interesting women - and it reminded me of what an incredibly powerful tool we can access simply by understanding our values.
What do you think your top value is?

It's never too late.
Never too late to apologise. Never too late to admit a lie. Never too late to admit a mistake.
Never too late to learn something new. Never too late to try again. Never too late to get back on track.
It's never too late to change your mind. Never too late to change your direction. Never too late to change your priorities and never too late to change your life.
Let's stop throwing up our hands, and using the "it's too late" excuse.
Instead, let's start. Start whatever we've been delaying, procrastinating, putting off. Let's start doing the stuff we need to do to move forward. Let's start being the person who does the stuff that needs doing.
Right now. Today.
Mums...watch this.
And remember it when you feel less than together.
Then tell yourself how awesome you are.

I have only just realised that one of my top priorities as a parent is to raise kids who are thoughtful and grateful.
It doesn't sound like a shocking revelation, but over the last few weeks, I have had some real honest conversations with my kids. I have gotten quite upset with what I call their "attitude" towards generosity, gratitude, and thinking of others.
I know kids are self centered - it is part of the process. Yet I have had several moments when I have looked at them and thought to myself, "How have I raised these kids to be so...[insert unwanted attitude here]"
And then I asked myself a different question. I decided to stop the mummy tantrums and instead ask:
What do I really want to teach them??
To share popcorn.
To help one another.
To get excited about new adventures.
To give it a go.
To give thanks and mean it.
Etc. etc. etc.!!
So now I can focus on that. Not on how sefish or rude or spoiled they are acting - instead I can hone in on what lesson I want to share.
And then I can trust that they will get it, they will try it on, and they will realise how good it feels to be those things.
What lessons are you focusing on with your children?

Are Parents Sabotaging Their Children's Future Relationships? Happiness is a tricky thing. Everyone wants to be happy, right? And we want the people we care about to be happy, too. This is especially true when it co...

I believe that sometimes we forget to prioritise FUN. In the midst of the busy, the responsibilities, the parenting, the stuff to do, fun is something we may try to fit in when we can.
I want more fun...how about you?
What if we made a decision that fun isn't simply something we try to squeeze in? What if fun wasn't a bonus, but instead a priority?
So I'm looking to find ways to have fun - fun in my everyday life, fun that doesn't need to cost money, fun that I can experience whenever I want to.
Like everything else, having fun is a choice. It's a choice that boosts possibilities, increases creativity, stimulates our minds and our bodies.
We do more, think more, feel more when we tap into our sense of fun and laughter.
When we see the absurd instead of the drama and when we embrace ridiculousness in lieu of the boring.
Please, I ask you, have a really fun day, no matter what you are doing!!
