We recently worked on a 30kW commercial aircon that had a burnt-out compressor. When this happens, the damage isn’t just in one part “the whole system is usually affected”

The old refrigerant (R22) was already contaminated from the burnout, so it couldn’t be reused. It was safely recovered and the system was properly flushed to remove metal, oil, and acid left behind.

From there, we:
• Replaced the compressor
• Replaced the capacitor
• Flushed the system
• Recovered the old R22
• Recharged the unit with R438A
• Completed full electrical and safety checks

Now the system is running clean, safe, and cooling properly again. If you ever need advice or help with your aircon, we’re always happy to point you in the right direction.

Bonaire Evap Pump Replacement..

Worked on an evap today where the water pump was on its way out. Unit was still turning on, but the pump wasn’t pushing water properly to the pads, which slowly kills the cooling if it’s left too long.

A few signs your evap might be crying out for a pump check or service:
• Water not spreading evenly over the pads
• Some pads dry, others soaking wet
• Air feels warm even though the unit’s running
• Pump making strange noises or cutting in and out
• Unit hasn’t been serviced in ages

What I did:
• Isolated power and water
• Drained and cleaned the pan
• Pulled out the tired pump and checked all connections
• Fitted a new pump suited to the unit
• Test run to make sure all pads were getting a good soak and everything’s working as it should

These things usually start small and get worse over time, especially in hot weather.

This aircon was still turning on… but the house was getting hotter every day. When i opened it up, this is what i found:

Dirty water and sludge stuck in the drain
The fan completely clogged with dust
Inside parts already under stress from working too hard
