It doesn’t matter “where” people work as long as their role and “results to be achieved” are well defined. They need to have 3 or 4 Major Areas of Responsibility (MAOR) outlined with Minimum Result Standards (MRS) for each of the 3 or 4 MAOR’s. Each task in their Job Description should have a “result” to achieve rather than just a task, i.e. “respond to customer’s enquiry within 1 hour”. I train leaders in conducting Business Development Sessions (BDS) with each of their employees where the employee and team leader discuss the employee’s results and “areas of improvement”. The BDS are conducted on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
