Congratulations to Dr David Haig who is the 2018 Gibb-Maitland medalist. This is a fantastic and well-deserved honour and recognises David’s tremendous contribution to geoscience in Western Australia most notably his expertise in marine sedimentology, stratigraphy, paleontology and biostratigraphy and its application to unravelling the history of WA’s and Timor Leste’s Paleozoic basins, and his long contribution to teaching and research at UWA.

UWA ranked in top 50 for seven subjects in QS rankings The University of Western Australia has had seven subjects ranked in the top 50 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, up from six subjects last year.
