Homeschool Needle felting - Family Class Learn the art of needle felting with the whole family! Parents and siblings are welcome to have a play and dive into the fibre arts.

Hi everyone!

I’ve had a few people asking about needle felting classes for older kids, so I’ve opened a homeschool class for ages 9+ this term. 🪡🧶

We’ll be learning proper needle felting techniques and creating a different project each week while building skills over the term. Projects include hedgehog keychains, tote bags, hamsters, earrings, mini cats, cacti, turtles and a axolotl.

The classes are beginner friendly, so no experience is needed. They’re a great fit for creative kids who enjoy making things with their hands and want to learn a new fibre art.

Parents are welcome to stay, or children can be signed in and picked up afterwards.

Term 3 is here! 🪡

A few changes are coming for the seasons of Makuru and Djilba 🌧️

All classes will be moving indoors where we can stay cozy. Toddler Play 🎨 and Nature-Based Crafts will return in the warmer months when we can enjoy the sunshine again ☀️

Homeschool Needle Felting is evolving and will now be split into two streams to better cater to different ages, interests and learning styles.

🪡 Family Classes
A relaxed, open-ended class with weekly themes and guidance for each project. Little siblings and other family members are welcome to join, and additional activities will be available to keep little hands busy.

Victoria Park Community Centre

🪡 Older Kids & Teens (Ages 9+)
Perfect for older children and teens wanting to build skills and explore needle felting in greater depth. Participants will learn sculptural techniques, develop an understanding of form and design, and gain the confidence to apply these skills to their own creative projects.

Parents and guardians are welcome to stay or drop off and return at the end of the session.

🎨 Kids Craft Club
Kids Craft Club will be moving from weekly sessions to monthly workshops and will now be open to teens as well. Two Wednesday afternoon workshops will be offered each month.

🌿 NEW Weekend Workshop
Come along for a Sunday workshop where adults and children can learn to create their own Waldorf-style peg dolls.

Perfect for anyone wanting to learn how to make handmade toys for storytelling and nature tables.
As always, a cuppa and biscuit are included!☕️

🧶 Homeschool Family Needle Felting Classes – Victoria Park 🧶

Designed for children aged 5+ years. Parents and children can work alongside each other while learning the art of needle felting and creating unique handmade projects.

Each class includes all materials and step-by-step guidance in a relaxed, supportive environment. Participants will learn foundational needle felting skills, develop their creativity, and explore 3D sculpture techniques through fun weekly projects.

Younger siblings are welcome to come for free, with other activities provided to keep their hands busy.

13/8 - Intro to 3D needle felting, creating flowers, love hearts, stars using cookie cutters.

20/8 - Intro to 3D needle felted sculptures, making baby cows.

27/8 - Intro to 3D needle felted sculptures with appendages, making Koalas.

3/9 - Mastering 3D sculptures with tiny appendages, making sea slugs and snails.
