Late last year I became a mum of two and ... YIKES 😅. I’m not saying having one child isn’t difficult, but having a second certainly adds a little more strain and intensity. I have so much admiration for those of you with even more kiddos in the mix!
Don’t get me wrong, I love my boys, my home life and my business, but my gosh, it’s something else not having a moment to myself and always being on the go.
I recently shared that I took some time off from sharing on social media. I was still doomscrolling late at night instead of sleeping 😜 but I just didn’t have it in me to say anything or share anything. I felt like showing up as often as I was previously was not attainable without giving up another part of my life.
I didn’t know it, but I was experiencing PPD, just a little more subtle than the first time around. It’s only obvious looking back now, I just wanted to hibernate and do as much as I could, but nothing extra.
One thing I appreciate setting up before my second child came along was a regular routine to keep on top of the endless housework.
I’ve relaxed a bit on how messy I let my house get during the day (let’s face it, having 2 little kids at home while running a business isn’t exactly a cruisy task) but every night before bed, we always do our EVENING RESET... WITHOUT FAIL. It helps me sleep at night, it helps to stay on top of things and although I joke that it’s nice to have a clean house while we sleep, it really actually is. It allows my mind to rest knowing I don’t have a sink full of dishes, washing piling up or toys strewn across my house to deal with in the morning.
Do have a routine or ritual that has never let you down? I’d love to know!

I thought I’d share a little cleaning confession from my week and hope I'm not alone here... have you ever started a deep clean with all the motivation in the world, only to end up completely fed up with your house? 🙈
I was so ready to tackle every corner of my place the other day, scrubbing away like the pro that I am, but halfway through, I found myself staring at the mess and just getting so annoyed!
I'm all for minimalism and I do try to stick to the "one in, one out" rule, but I'm not going lie... my sons have alot of stuff (I blame my obsession with wooden toys and also his doting nanna haha).
I had to take a breather and laugh at myself because my annoyance was of my own doing 😂 Has this ever happened to you?
Something that gets me through is knowing I've got a cleaner coming every fortnight to help with the general maintenance (highly recommend investing in one btw 😉 ) and also a reminder that my boys won't be this little for long. So I am enjoying the chaos it brings while finding ways to keep me sane and my home less cluttered so deep cleaning doesn't completely stress me out.
So tell me... are you a "once a month" deep cleaner or an "every day do a little bit" type of cleaner?

As a busy mum of two energetic boys, I totally get the struggle of keeping the house tidy, especially with little ones creating messes left and right... and sometimes literally in front of your eyes as you are cleaning up after them. 🫠
I’ve been teaching my 3 year old son how to pick up his toys since he was around 2, and it’s been heartwarming to see him embrace my love for organisation. He even catches me if I put something in the wrong drawer and corrects me, haha. The apple doesn't fall far hey!?
I get that cleaning isn't for everyone - it's part of why I started All Pure Cleaning actually. The thing I love the most about the business is that we have a team of incredible people who DO love to clean so it allows us to take the stress off our client's hands.
So If you're one of those clients, get in touch as we have some spots free for regular cleaning in various suburbs SOR and NOR.
And I'm curious, do you get your kiddos to clean up their own messes?

If you had told me when I was a teenager that I would start a natural cleaning business in 2013, I would have laughed at you. I HATED cleaning – just ask my mum, haha.
Fast-forward to now, and not only do I run a thriving eco-friendly cleaning business, but I’ve completely changed my outlook on the process. These days, it’s so much more than just ‘chores’, it’s an act of self-care, a way to create a calming space for my family (including my fur kiddos!), and something I now genuinely enjoy.
Here are some ways I learned to love cleaning long before I officially launched my business:
⭐ Seeing My Home As a Sanctuary ⭐
The moment I started treating my home like the sacred space it is, I realised how much my environment affects my energy. Cleaning became a ritual for me.
⭐ Using Natural Products That Actually Smell Good ⭐
I never liked harsh, chemical smells. Once I discovered natural, plant-based cleaners, it was a game-changer. I felt more at ease using them around my loved ones, and the fresh scents made cleaning enjoyable (no headaches or runny noses!).
⭐ Making It ‘Me Time’ ⭐
Believe it or not, cleaning can be therapeutic if you approach it the right way. I put on my favourite music or podcast, grab a cup of herbal tea, and treat it as a mini workout. It’s surprisingly mood-boosting once you get going!
⭐ Breaking It Down into Bite-Sized Tasks ⭐
Instead of spending hours in a huge cleaning marathon (which I used to dread), I tackle smaller tasks daily &/or weekly. That keeps things manageable, and I feel accomplished each time I tick something off my list.
⭐ Focusing on the End Result ⭐
There’s something so satisfying about standing back to admire a sparkling home. It’s a wave of relief after a busy week.
Still don't like cleaning? Hit me up in the DMs.
