What would you raise the tax free threshold too?

Our current policy is - Every dollar before $50,000 is tax free, every dollar after is a flat 20%

But with inflation at 4.6% maybe we should raise that number and index it?

The tax-free threshold in Australia is $18,200. It hasn't moved since 2012.

In that time, the cost of living has gone up every single year. Wages have gone up to try to keep pace but that gets eaten up with the rise in everything.

The point at which the government starts taking tax from your income hasn't shifted once. Not under Labor, not under the Coalition.

That means more of your income is taxable now than it was fourteen years ago, even though your money doesn't go any further. In Canberra, where the cost of living is among the highest in the country, that gap between what you earn and what you keep is felt every week.

The 2026 budget was a chance to move it. They didn't.

We think the government should have to justify taking more from you, not just let it happen by doing nothing.
