The edgy Australian horror thriller, Penny Lane is Dead, written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Mia’Kate Russell, has completed casting. With cameras rolling in Adelaide as of May 2nd, early footage from the film was showcased for international buyers during the Marché du Film at Cannes. The film is a wild, blood-soaked descent into love, betrayal and survival, set during a sweltering Australian summer in 1986. It tells the story of a carefree night at a beach house turning deadly when a prank spirals out of control, leaving three teenage best friends to fight for their lives. The film stars Perth's Bailey Spalding as Penny Lane. Umbrella Entertainment .
