RHINO ๐Ÿพ Staffy X - Applications have closed

Rhino is nearly 6 weeks old now and will have his first vaccination in the coming weeks. He has completely recovered from his head trauma and is thriving. ๐Ÿ’™

This little pup is full of Staffy-itude and has the cutest personality. He will happily tell you off if you donโ€™t give him plenty of attention! He is very good with children over 3 years old and would easily adapt to any loving family environment.

We are now accepting expressions of interest for either a foster-to-adopt or full adoption arrangement.

Itโ€™s so important for puppies to have stability at such a young age, and Rhino deserves a forever family who will nurture his growth and shower him with love.

Rhinoโ€™s adoption fee is $600, which helps cover his initial veterinary work, including:
โ€ข Three puppy vaccinations
โ€ข Microchip
โ€ข Sterilisation
All at our preferred veterinary hospital (south of the river).

Applications are now open. Please note that Rhino will not go to his new home until after his first vaccination.

Please be patient while waiting for a response, as we typically receive a large number of applications for puppies and may not be able to reply to everyone.

Every hour is playtime โ€” even 2am for little BEAN ๐Ÿ’›

Little Bean is doing so well in his foster home. Surrounded by love and attention, heโ€™s finally able to enjoy being a happy puppy again now that heโ€™s feeling a little better and out of hospital.
Heโ€™s nearly 8 weeks old now.

Weโ€™re still keeping a close eye on his blood work, with another blood test scheduled for the end of this week.

Albumin is a protein made by the liver, and the normal range in dogs is between 21โ€“36. When little Bean was admitted, his albumin level was 16g/L. We repeated the test over 48 hours and it remained the same before increasing slightly to 18g/L. While this is an improvement, it is still below the normal range, so we will continue monitoring closely.

Puppies can naturally have slightly lower albumin levels, but because of Beanโ€™s initial symptoms, we want to ensure there are no underlying concerns affecting his recovery. Low albumin levels (hypoalbuminemia) in puppies can sometimes point to issues such as liver dysfunction, kidney disease, or severe infection.

If Beanโ€™s albumin levels remain low, we will proceed with an ultrasound, which has already been pre-booked for next week if needed. The sonographer will examine his internal organs, especially his liver and kidneys to check for any abnormalities and we make a plan from there.

THANK YOU for all your support and we will continue to keep you updated.

Update - Our little Bean โค๏ธ.

Bean is now out of the hospital and into a loving foster home. While he is doing much better each day and starting to find his little way in this world, unfortunately, there is still concerns regarding his blood work.

His blood work indicates that his liver may not be able to produce enough Albumin (a crucial protein that helps keep fluid within the blood vessels) as well as having elevated bile acids (which indicates liver dysfunction)๐Ÿ˜ข.

While we are continuing to monitor these values, lil' Bean may need to go for a specialty abdominal ultrasound & possibly even a CT scan to confirm a full diagnosis.

We truly appreciate everyoneโ€™s likes, comments, shares, and especially the donations. Thanks to your support, weโ€™ve been able to cover the cost of Beanโ€™s current stay at the animal hospital which was over $1000.00 in care so far. Heโ€™ll need ongoing blood tests this week to monitor his levels, and weโ€™ll take things step by step from there.

At just 7 weeks of age, he is so young to be going through something like this, we don't know what the outcome will be yet however, weโ€™re focused on doing whatโ€™s best for him and will continue to care for him however we can.
